Avril Makes Me Wait
So my friend and I ended up with free tickets to the Avril Lavigne/ Bestbuy concert so we thought it would be fun to go. Boy were we wrong! We made our way through a blizzard to this outdoor concert. We arrived about half an hour early because it was general admission and we didn’t want to get bad seats. We got up pretty close to the stage and were totally stoked… 15 minutes go by… 40 minutes… 1 hour??? Some people were booing others were shivering in their best buy ponchos. Avril had us and her fans waiting in the freezing cold, and she was no where to be found. Some lady came on and started telling us about Avril’s album history… and then said she Avril was ‘on her way’ and ’should be arriving soon’. By this time, my toes and fingers were completely frozen and my friend was eye’ing me to leave. We turn around to walk out and then we hear “Hey Hey Hey Hey…”
We stayed for the first 40 minutes and by then our lips were blue and we could hardly move so we booked it out of there. The only good thing I have to say about this is that at least Avril sounds like she does on her albums. She has a very unique voice, but was definitely not lip syncing. She even looked pretty cute all bundled up with her matching mittens and scarf.
Oh and when she did get there she did NOT apologize for making us wait…
