Madonna And Guy: The 60 Million Dollar Divorce Deal
A court in the UK declared Madonna & Guy’s 7-year marriage as over although it will take about six weeks before it’s finalized and official. Neither of them showed up in court today. Apparently she’s on tour in Philadelphia and he’s filming in Liverpool.
According to the documents, they haven’t lived together for the past six months. Madonna’s signed affidavit claims that the reason their marriage failed was due to his “unreasonable behaviour.” She also noted that his bad behavior was continuing.
Unreasonable behavior? I wonder what that means for her? Is that just another term for ‘irreconcilable differences’? What about her unreasonable behavior? Contributing to the problems that ended A-Rod’s marriage with their close friendship while they were both married, is that reasonable? Buying a mansion next door to turn it into a gym, that’s reasonable? Could it be that unreasonable behavior meant that he wanted his dignity back?
Guy will get to keep his swanky London pub, the 1,200 acre country estate as well as a cash payment of £25million. Since the British pound has plummeted, that amounts to around $37 mil. The cash will cover their London properties — a family townhouse in Marylebone, a ten-bedroom property next door, and two mews cottages each.
The total value will be around $60 million.
Guy who is the director of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and RocknRolla already had an estimated $44 million fortune.
Last night, Guy told reporters:
“It was never about money – never about her bloody art collection. I just wanted to settle it and move on. I didn’t raise any objections at any stage until she insisted the children lived permanently in New York.”
Sad really. Madonna herself grew up without a mother. Makes me wonder why she would want her children to go through the trauma of being single parented and separated from their father?
